Please express your interest in enrolling in DYM, and we will arrange your first visit with the lead clinician, Donna Richards, LMFT. During this initial visit, you will discuss your child and your concerns. Based on these discussions, assessments will be conducted. The therapist will meet with your child one-on-one in our therapeutic classroom, administer additional assessments, and observe them at play.
After the assessment, the therapist will share your child's treatment plan and explore options. Our holistic approach might include gathering information from different sources, such as your child's physician, childcare center, school, and church. It's essential to keep in mind that any delays in obtaining additional information or test results can affect the implementation of the treatment plan, potentially requiring adjustments based on the new information.
Children receive three hours of dedicated treatment daily, supported by Community Support Associates who help them with their daily routine and activities. Treatment occurs throughout the day to provide ongoing support. In addition, children have the opportunity for weekly one-on-one play sessions with a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, both inside and outside the therapeutic classroom. The LMFT's family therapy provides valuable support for the child's treatment plan, creating positive changes at home and promoting a nurturing environment.
